Even days, weeks, after arriving, Skyhold is still as intensely breathtaking as the first time Alaina had set foot inside its walls. She isn't a mage, but even she can tell that an incredible amount of history had gone into this place. Part of her wants to know it all, while part knows no one ever will. Still, seeing the new history being made within these walls has a certain amount of satisfaction to it as well and that is a large part of the reason she likes to take long walks through the many corridors and ramparts. She likes checking on her people — they are hers now, since she officially accepted the mantel of "Inquisitor" — and making sure they're all doing okay. This also gives her an excuse to scan the horizons herself for anything unusual.
And it also is a reason to go bother a certain someone now that he has a tower and an office of his own.
So, as has become her usual, she winds her way through Skyhold, making a point to stop at the commander's tower last. He isn't alone when she gently slips through the doorway, but she busies herself with the bookshelf directly to her left until his subordinate takes his leave. Unfortunately, this does take some time and she's half considering leaving when the soldier eventually moves away.
"Should I come back?" she asks, finally turning from the books as the door shuts behind the soldier. She's half teasing with her comment. While she would be perfectly willing to come back if needed, she also means it as a gentle prod at his work habits. He's usually busy when she stops by, but today seems to be a little more so than usual. Maybe she should force him to take a break...
